"AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS" KICKS OFF ITS 18TH SEASON

"Episode No. 1801" � "America's Funniest Home Videos" kicks off its 18th season with all-new footage of what happens when adults, children and even inanimate objects are at their spontaneous best. Season premiere highlights include a practical joke played on a teen who bites into a burger with a fake bug inside; hair-raising footage of exceptionally hirsute men; and when shellfish attack � a man having an unfortunate encounter with a clam -- SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television. Tom Bergeron is the host.
"America's Funniest Home Videos" is the longest-running primetime show in ABC history.
The season premiere will also mark the beginning of a year-long promotion, with one video winner and one online winner taking home a magical "Adventures by Disney" vacation at the end of the season. The winners will be able to choose one vacation from among 10 trips to some of the most sought-after destinations in the world, including Italy, Spain, France, Costa Rica and many more.
Three times a year, "AFV" awards $100,000 cash grand prizes for the best video submission. For each of the shows awarding $100,000 cash prizes to video contestants, viewers at home can enter the "AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes." Travel giveaways this season will include: In October, a viewer will have the chance to win a Disney Cruise Line� Land and Sea Vacation, starting at the Walt Disney World� Resort in Florida and then sailing on Disney Wonder for an enchanting Bahamian voyage to Nassau and Disney's private island paradise, Castaway Cay; in February, a viewer will have a chance to win an exciting 7-Night Disney Cruise Line� vacation sailing from the Port of Los Angeles, either June 8, 2008 or July 27, 2008, to the Mexican Riviera; in April, a viewer will have a chance to experience new attractions and entertainment at the Disneyland� Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, as Disney's Year of a Million Dreams celebration continues through 2008.
When "AFV" has its season finale in 2008, the three $100,000 video prize winners will return to the show to compete for the Grand Prize, their choice of an "Adventures by Disney" vacation out of 10 trips to some of the most desired locations around the world. These adventures of a lifetime are immersive, effortless and fun for every member of the family. In addition to the video prize winner, one lucky viewer entrant will also be selected to win an "Adventures by Disney" trip.
Viewers can enter each of the four "AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes" throughout the year. For the first of the sweepstakes, entries will begin on ABC.com beginning Oct. 28, 2007 and ending Nov. 6, 2007. No purchase necessary to enter or win. You must have Internet access and a valid e-mail address to participate. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding residents of the Province of Quebec), 13 years of age or older as of the date of entry.
