04/13/2008 (08:00PM - 09:00PM) (Sunday) : WHEN FELLOW DETECTIVE MARTY EELS (GUEST STAR: JASON ALEXANDER) SHOWS UP AT A CRIME SCENE KNOWING ALL THE ANSWERS, HAS MONK (TONY SHALOUB) MET HIS MATCH, OR IS HE CHEATING? A jewelry shop owner, Howard Gumbal (Guest Star: Alan Wilder) robs his own store, and delivers the loot to two thugs who have taken his dog hostage. When a security guard shows up, one of the thugs kills him. With Gumbal now a murder witness, the shooter kills Gumbal as well. Monk (Tony Shaloub) is called in to investigate, but a disheveled, second-rate detective named Marty Eels (Guest Star: Jason Alexander) shows up on the scene, and his detective skills turn out to be better than Monk's skills. Has Monk finally met his match, or is Eels cheating? Jason Alexander, Dana Ivey and Alan Wilder guest star. Traylor Howard, Ted Levine, Jason Gray-Stanford, Emmy Clarke and Stanley Kamel also star.
