COUCH PUZZLE, ON ABC'S "WANNA BET?," TUESDAY, AUGUST 19
"Episode 103" "Wanna Bet?" is a weekly, one-hour prime time event in which celebrities have the chance to earn big money for the charity of their choice by betting on the success or failure of the wildest stunts, tricks and mental challenges that ordinary Americans housewives, truck drivers, dentists, kids can dream up and perform in front of a studio audience. "Wanna Bet?" airs TUESDAY,
AUGUST 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 7/21/08)
Editors note: This program replaces "Samantha Who?" episodes "The Virgin" and "The Restraining Order," which move to Aug. 25.
Hosted by British comedy sensations Ant and Dec, "Wanna Bet?" features celebrity contestants/judges. The premiere features Sherri Shepherd (ABC's "The View"), George Takei ("Star Trek"), comedian Tom Green and Harland Williams.
Attempted stunts include the Hula Hoop Semi-Truck Tire, in which a man tries to hula hoop a 50-pound tire for 45 seconds; CD Licker: a blindfolded man attempts to identify four out of five CDs just by licking them; and Moving Couch Puzzle, in which four movers attempt to load dozens of couches into a moving truck in less than three minutes.
"Wanna Bet?" executive producers are Phil Gurin ("The Singing Bee," "The Weakest Link," "Miss Universe) and Marc Jansen ("Lingo"). The series is produced by The Gurin Company.
"Wanna Bet?" is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. This program carries a TV-PG,D parental guideline.
