The pressure builds on Coach Taylor to make some changes to his team for an upcoming big game. Saracen also feels the heat as the fans begin to lose faith in him and turn to the new quarterback, J.D. McCoy (Jeremy Sumpter). Saracen rekindles his friendship with Julie, a welcome escape from all the stress. Tami unexpectedly befriends Katie McCoy (Janine Turner) and during a team barbeque, Billy Riggins drags Tim into a risky scheme to get them out of debt, ignoring Lyla's caution.
