"Today" Primetime Special to Air Monday, December 22 at 8 p.m.

NEW YORK - - December 16, 2008 - - America's first family is making a very special appearance in primetime this holiday season. Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Ann Curry will host "2008: Today Looks Back, A Holiday Special," which will air Monday, December 22 at 8 p.m. "Today's" Natalie Morales, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Lester Holt, Amy Robach, Jenna Wolfe, Willard Scott and Gene Shalit will also make appearances during the hour-long special.

"2008: Today Looks Back, A Holiday Special" will review the incredible year of 2008. The "Today" anchors will take a look at the most memorable events and newsmakers of 2008, including the top five news stories of the year, the top five moving moments, and the top five people of the year. The program will also highlight the most unforgettable pop culture stories of 2008 as well as funny out-takes and bloopers from the "Today" show.

Jim Bell is the executive producer of "Today" (Monday-Friday, 7-11 a.m.). Don Nash is the senior broadcast producer responsible for "2008: Today Looks Back, A Holiday Special."
