VERIDIAN'S NEW LIGHT SENSOR SYSTEM INADVERTENTLY TOUCHES OFF A RACIAL CONTROVERSY, ON ABC'S "BETTER OFF TED"

"Racial Sensitivity" -- Ted is horrified to learn that Veridian's new state-of-the-art sensor system, based on light reflecting off the skin, doesn't detect the company's African American employees, including a very angry Lem. But things go from bad to worse when Veronica and the other execs try half-baked measures to fix the problem without going to the actual expense of replacing the system, on "Better Off Ted," airing WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Better Off Ted" stars Jay Harrington as Ted, Portia de Rossi as Veronica, Andrea Anders as Linda, Jonathan Slavin as Phil, Malcolm Barrett as Lem and Isabella Acres as Rose.

Guest starring are Jonathan Floyd as Bert, Jesse Head as Stu and Kristoffer Polaha as Don.

"Racial Sensitivity" was written by Michael Glouberman and directed by Paul Lazarus.

"Better Off Ted" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary Closed Captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.

This episode of "Better Off Ted" will be available on abc.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.
