"THE DREW CAREY SHOW" (6:30-7:00 p.m. ET)

"The Engagement" (CONTENT RATING TBD)

DREW AND OSWALD TAKE THEIR GIRLFRIENDS OUT FOR VALENTINE'S DAY Mimi (Kathy Kinney) hires a psychologist, Dr. Rider (Eegene Levy, "SCTV Network 90"), to testify as an expert witness in her sexual-harassment lawsuit against Mr. Wick (Craig Ferguson) and the store. Although her claims are groundless, Mimi wants revenge on Mr. Wick for fouling up her previous plans to bilk the store. When Mr. Wick is hooked up to a lie detector to prepare for his defense, he divulges much more about his personal life than he intends. Meanwhile, when Oswald (Diedrich Bader) announces that he is moving in with Kate (Christa Miller), Drew is jealous because he is still slightly enamored with her. He inadvertently reveals to Oswald that he doesn't think Kate is the right woman for him, which prompts Oswald to challenge Drew to a contest: during Valentine's Day dinner together, Oswald and Drew ask their unwitting girlfriends questions from a magazine's compatibility test and determine who knows their mate best. Drew fails miserably to predict Nicki's answers, while Oswald and Kate agree on almost everything. To everyone's surprise, Oswald impulsively proposes marriage to Kate. After Kate agrees, competitive Drew asks Nicki to marry him and receives a much more lackluster "yes." Brian K. Roberts directed the episode written by Bruce Rasmussen (#466267).
