DREW MEETS NICKI'S PARENTS � Having accepted Oswald's (Diedrich Bader) marriage proposal, Kate (Christa Miller) realizes there's still one obstacle to a happy relationship with Oswald: his inseparable friendship with Lewis (Ryan Stiles). When Kate and Oswald consult a priest, Father McNabb (Larry Brandenberg), for advice, Lewis appears outside the window and distracts Oswald, infuriating Kate. Later, Oswald presents Kate with an engagement ring to make her feel better, but she finds out that Lewis wrote a script for Oswald's apology. Meanwhile, Drew (Drew Carey) is nervous about meeting Nicki's (recurring guest star Kate Walsh) parents, Chuck (Barry Corbin, "Northern Exposure") and Charlene (Anne Francis, "Honey West"), for the first time. Even worse, Nicki is stranded by snow and cannot come to dinner with them. Drew's future in-laws immediately dislike Drew, and he inadvertently makes them realize how awful their own marriage is. After announcing that he is divorcing Charlene, Chuck orders Drew to help him meet women. Sam Simon directed the episode written by Matilda Hokinson (#466268).
