SUNDAY, JULY 19

"THE DREW CAREY SHOW" (6:30-7:00 p.m. ET)

"DREW'S DANCE PARTY SPECIAL" (CONTENT RATING TBD)

Drew and his pals reminisce about their favorite rock-music songs The episode consists mainly of clips of dance and music sequences from throughout the series' run. When the local rock-music radio station announces it is going off the air after forty years, Drew (Drew Carey) and his friends are upset. To bring back memories, they plan to stay up all night and get the disk jockey to play their favorite songs. First, Lewis (Ryan Stiles) requests "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" (used in a scene from episode #466258, "Dog and Pony Show"). After Oswald (Diedrich Bader) goes to the store for more beer and doesn't come back, Drew, Kate (Christa Miller) and Lewis are surprised to hear Oswald's voice on the radio. He bribed the embittered disk jockey to let him take his place. Oswald plays "Five O'Clock World" (#465902, "We'll Remember Always, Evaluation Day"). Following an embarrassing story about his friends, Oswald plays "A Taste of Honey" (#466256, "That Thing You Don't"). Oswald ironically dedicates his next song to Lewis: "What is Hip?" (episode #465909, "Drew's the Other Man"). Then he plays "Cleveland Rocks" (#466253, "Strange Bedfellows"). When Mimi and Kate call in and demand different songs, Oswald plays both at once, "Time Warp" and "Groove Thing" (#465924, "New York and Queens"). Finally, after accidentally giving out his address on the air, Oswald learns that his house has been robbed. Before rushing home, he plays "Free Ride" (#466258, "Dog and Pony Show"). Written by Clay Graham and directed by Gerry Cohen (#467537).
