"THE DREW CAREY SHOW" (6:00-6:30 p.m. ET)
"Kate's Family" (CONTENT RATING TBD)
KATE GAINS AN INSTANT FAMILY Having no job and no boyfriend depresses Kate (Christa Miller). But she suddenly finds herself with more responsibility than she expected when Drew (Drew Carey) gets her a job taking care of a luxurious house for his neighbors, the Fosters. First, Kate meets the attractive plumber, Scott Honey (Neil Flynn), who is working on the house while the Fosters are away. Then, after an emergency, a baby-sitter leaves the Fosters' young children, Mark (Shawn Pyfrom) and Cindy (Tony Scott), with Kate. Soon, Kate and Scott are dating and living in the house with their instant family. But it's not long before they behave like a bored, longtime married couple. Scott eventually goes home, and the kids' parents return to evict Kate. Meanwhile, Drew still wants to date his handywoman, Sharon Bridges (recurring guest star Jenica Bergere). He pretends to be a good swimmer so he can exercise with her, but he only ends up with an ear infection. Also, Mimi (Kathy Kinney) lives in fear, knowing that Drew will get revenge for her China prank. Written by Richard Day and directed by Sam Simon (#467510).
