EIGHT FAMILIES BEGIN THEIR QUEST FOR THE $250,000 PRIZE WHEN "THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD" PREMIERES, SUNDAY, AUG. 9

The Actual Homes of This Real Neighborhood Are Surrounded by a Massive 20-Foot Wall, Isolating the Contestants From the Outside World

Eight families begin their quest for the $250,000 prize when THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD premieres, Sunday, Aug. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

In this groundbreaking social experiment, a suburban neighborhood is surrounded by an enormous 20-foot wall. The eight families living inside lose all contact with the outside world, as well as their electricity, which means no television, no phones and no computers. Without these modern-day distractions, the families are forced to spend time together and work as a team in hopes of reconnecting with each other.

As the competition begins, the mother of one family contends with her teenage sons' apathy while father and son of another family butt heads over household chores. The first challenge begins with a fire truck and ends with one family victoriously scaling a rooftop and winning the opportunity to select two families to potentially be kicked out of the neighborhood. At the Neighborhood Meeting, the families gather to discuss the week's events and then cast their vote to support one of the two families in danger of leaving. As emotions run high and friendships are tested, one family is kicked out of the game by a majority vote.

THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD is produced by Next Entertainment and Jay Bienstock Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss ("The Bachelor," "High School Reunion") and Jay Bienstock ("The Apprentice, Supervising Producer, "SURVIVOR") are the executive producers. Matt Rogers ("American Idol," "Really Big Things") is the host.
