COMEDY CENTRAL'S(R) FAVORITE DRINKING BUDDY IS BACK FOR A NIGHTCAP! THE WORLD TELEVISION PREMIERE STAND-UP SPECIAL "PAUL F. TOMPKINS: YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME" DEBUTS FRIDAY, JUNE 11 AT 11:00 P.M ET/PT

NEW YORK, May 18, 2010 -- You know that feeling you get when you're sitting in the back of a cab and the evening's beverage choices start to make a comeback? Paul F. Tompkins does and he'll tell you all about it in the World Television Premiere of "Paul F. Tompkins: You Should Have Told Me" on Friday, June 11, at 11:00 P.M ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.

Tompkins discusses the pros and cons of having neighbors, strategies for binge drinking, pot paranoia and the logistics of speaking with the dead in this brand-new stand-up special. The clever comedian delves into a number of outrageous examples, ranging from getting too high at his own party to his brother showing up late to their mother's viewing, all in his signature dry delivery. The man in the suit also takes a comedic look at life's more solemn topics such as small talk in the laundry room and picking up 60 year old ladies wearing leopard prints. Shot in Atlanta, GA at the Laughing Skull Lounge on July 30, 2009, Tompkins rummages around the repertoire for some of his favorite tales, generally inspired by having a LITTLE too much to drink.

Tompkins hails from Philadelphia, PA, where he started performing stand-up comedy in 1986. In 1994, he moved to Hollywood, CA where he was nominated for an Emmy for his writing on HBO's "Mr. Show with Bob and David." Tompkins also wrote and starred in his own one-man HBO show, "Driven to Drink."

Tompkins is best known as the host of VH1's "Best Week Ever with Paul F. Tompkins" and his live variety program, "The Paul F. Tompkins Show" that regularly features Tompkins sharing the stage with comics such as Jack Black and Andy Richter. Tompkins' cleverly executed stand-up has been featured on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents: Paul F. Tompkins." The seasoned stand-up veteran has also found his way to the big screen in feature films including "There Will Be Blood," "The Informant" and "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny." His latest CD, "Freak Wharf," immediately went to the top of the iTunes comedy charts after its release by ASpecialThing Records in December 2009.
