A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE LEAVES ONE CAMPER DISTRAUGHT IN THE EIGHTH EPISODE OF "HUGE," MONDAY, AUGUST 16TH AT 9:00PM ET/PT ON ABC FAMILY

Burbank, CA (Thursday, July 28, 2010) - In the eighth episode of "Huge," Chloe (Ashley Holliday) and Allistair (Harvey Guillen) celebrate their birthdays - separately -- until Chloe's "popular kids only" party brings the two together under some unfortunate circumstances, causing Chloe to get upset. What happens to trigger such intense emotions? Find out Monday, August 16th (9:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT), on the new ABC Family original one-hour scripted series, "Huge." The episode, entitled "Birthdays," was directed by Elodie Keene and written by Lucy Boyle.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rand (Gina Torres) and her new suitor go on an unusual date that gives insight to Rand's past and her present demeanor. By allowing this man into enter her personal and secret life, it seems that falling in love at summer camp is not just for the campers.

"Huge" is a heartwarming drama that focuses on a group of teens from different backgrounds attending a weight loss camp as they embark on their individual journeys of self discovery. The series will follow the campers as they deal with issues including self-esteem, friendship, rivalry, romance and body image.

Winnie Holzman ("My So-Called Life," "Once & Again," "Wicked") serves as executive producer with Kim Rozenfeld ("American High"), Savannah Dooley serves as producer on the series. Alloy Entertainment's Leslie Morgenstein and Bob Levy ("Gossip Girl," "The Vampire Diaries") also serve as executive producers; Robin Schiff ("Romy & Michele's High School Reunion" and ABC Family's "10 Things I Hate About You") serves as a consulting producer.
