NEW YORK, September 22, 2010 -- 20-year-old comedian/singer/songwriter/musician Bo Burnham's lyricism intertwined with creative stand-up has made him an Internet sensation. Now COMEDY CENTRAL brings viewers the World Premiere of "Bo Burnham: Words, Words, Words," a one-hour original stand-up special, debuting on Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Burnham is the first performer to be presented as part of COMEDY CENTRAL's House of Comedy Live from House of Blues, a COMEDY CENTRAL-branded stand-up showcase in House of Blues venues nationwide. Taped in Burnham's hometown of Boston, "Words, Words, Words," displays his unique wordplay and musical and comedic combo styling. Burnham pontificates on how Hitler rose to power, wonders in song, "What's funny?" and shares his version of a Shakespearean sonnet - if the Bard had written porn. Burnham's poetic, artistic and witty mind takes viewers on an unprecedented journey of stand-up comedy that's never been seen before!

On Tuesday, October 19, the "Bo Burnham: Words, Words, Words" DVD will be released unedited and uncensored nationwide by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. The CD will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Records on the same day. In addition to the live performance, the album includes two studio tracks, the singles "Words, Words, Words" and "Oh Bo," with the DVD to include high-production music videos for both singles.

Leading up to the premiere, Jokes.com will feature preview clips and highlights as well as both Bo Burnham music videos. "Bo Burnham: Words, Words, Words" will be available in HD and SD for download-to-own on October 19 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Zune and Sony PlayStation Network. iTunes (pre-order 10/4) and Amazon Video on Demand will carry the special in SD only.

Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment and Bo Burnham serve as executive producers. Art & Industry's Michelle Caputo is the producer and Shannon Hartman directs. Toni Magon and Elizabeth Porter are the executives in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

At 18, Burnham became the youngest person ever to record a "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents" special. Last year, Burnham's COMEDY CENTRAL Records self-titled album topped Billboard's New Artist chart and was #2 on Billboard's Comedy Chart in its first week. It then rocketed to #1 (Billboard Chart date week of 02/07/10) after hitting #2 in COMEDY CENTRAL's "Stand-Up Showdown." He released his first digital-only EP "Bo Fo Sho" on iTunes in June and the album hit #1 on the iTunes comedy album chart and #6 on the overall iTunes album chart. Burnham's upcoming projects include embarking on the "Bo Burnham and (No) Friends Tour" in October and a 30-minute scripted pilot for MTV about a kid, fresh out of high school, who pursues the American dream of being a celebrity without having any talent. Burnham just wrapped up a 30-day run at the Edinburgh Fringe Fest where he performed to sell-out audiences and won the "Spirit of the Fringe Award." He was also the youngest performer ever nominated for the "Best Show Award" in the festival's 30-year history. Additionally, Burnham has already started compiling film credits with roles in Judd Apatow's "Funny People" and, most recently, Federighi's coming-of-age comedy "Sin Bin."
