JUDGMENT DAY... WILL CONRAD MURRAY BE FOUND NEGLIGENT
IN THE DEATH OF MICHAEL JACKSON?
"20/20" Airs on Friday, November 4 on ABC
Plus: University of Tennessee Hall of Fame Basketball Coach Pat Summitt
On Her Most Formidable Opponent Yet
And: "Give Me a Break with Chris Cuomo"
Michael Jackson's death on June 25, 2009 stunned the world. To many, the fact that his personal physician, cardiologist Conrad Murray, was right by his side - being paid $150,000 a month to watch over a sleep deprived Jackson six nights a week - was also shocking. Now a jury must decide if Murray was negligent, ultimately responsible for Jackson's death. As Murray's trial comes to a close and with a verdict imminent, "20/20" gives viewers the most comprehensive update of the details surrounding Jackson's death and the events that have unfolded since, leading up to the jury's ultimate decision. And, what has happened to Jackson's three children since being thrust into the spotlight following their father's death? Featuring reporting from Jim Avila, who has covered the trial from the start, and Chris Connelly from Los Angeles, "20/20" airs on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Plus: Embarking on her 39th year of coaching women's basketball at the University of Tennessee, Hall of Fame Coach Pat Summitt is facing another challenge - and perhaps her most formidable opponent yet. Last spring the 59-year-old Summitt received a diagnosis of early onset dementia from her doctors at the Mayo Clinic. Today she is determined to continue her job as head coach of the Lady Vols and to pursue her team's goal of winning the National Championship. Summitt holds the record for the most wins (1,071) of any coach in any college sport, men's or women's. And her team's eight National Championship wins are second only to UCLA's John Wooden's. In her first sit-down interview since her announcement, Summitt opens up to Robin Roberts.
"20/20's" popular and controversial column "Give Me a Break" returns with Chris Cuomo. First up, Cuomo takes on pensions: At a time when Congress is preparing massive spending cuts that will require sacrifices for almost all Americans, one privileged group is being spared - congressmen themselves. Their pension plan has been called lavish and is better than what other federal employees, and most Americans, get.
"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and Chris Cuomo. David Sloan is executive producer.
