COMING UP ON 48 HOURS MYSTERY: BUSINESSMAN GOES SHOPPING FOR A KILLER - FOR HIMSELF CONVICTED MURDERER KENNETH MINOR SPEAKS OUT IN HIS FIRST INTERVIEW IN "DEATH WISH," SATURDAY, APRIL 28 (10:00 PM, ET/PT)

After Jeffrey Locker's family reported him missing, New York City Police discovered the body of the Long Island businessman and motivational speaker slumped over the steering wheel of his car in Harlem. Initially, it appeared that Locker had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time; however, when authorities tracked Locker's ATM card to Kenneth Minor and questioned him, Minor made a startling allegation to the motive behind the murder: Locker had begged Minor to kill him.

"I've covered 30-odd thousand homicides, and there has never been a story like this one," said seasoned police reporter Murray Weiss, who covered the investigation extensively.

The defense argued that this was really, in effect, a case of assisted suicide. The victim allegedly sought out and propositioned his own killer, so that his death would appear to be murder. Evidence revealed during the trial showcased Locker's severe financial troubles, pending lawsuits, and most notably, a multimillion-dollar life insurance policy that Locker had purchased months before his death. The prosecution challenged the assisted suicide claim and argued that Minor was simply a cold-blooded killer. After hours of deliberation, Minor was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 20 years to life.

In his first interview, Minor tells 48 HOURS MYSTERY correspondent Richard Schlesinger, "I've always said I will pay for what I did. I will pay for the part that I played It wasn't murder. I just happened to be the building he jumped off." The broadcast also features interviews with law enforcement officials, members of the media, and a long-time friend of Locker's.

The primetime broadcast, entitled "Death Wish," will air on Saturday, April 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
