America's favorite Midwestern family travels to New York City in search of Bart's long-lost love Mary Spuckler (guest voice Zooey Deschanel) who he wants to reconnect with since she has left Springfield and her hillbilly family there to reinvent herself in the big apple. Lisa and Marge look forward to experiencing all the city has to offer but when they realize their budget won't allow a Broadway play they settle for the free "Shakespeare In the Park" which doesn't go as planned on the "Moonshine River" episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Sept. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. DESCRIPTION:
(from FOX's press release, May 2013) Entering into its milestone 25th season this fall, THE SIMPSONS continues to strike a chord with viewers for irreverently poking fun at anything and everything. As the longest-running scripted series in television history, THE SIMPSONS has become one of the most consistently groundbreaking, innovative and recognizable entertainment franchises throughout the world. With its subversive humor and delightful wit, the series has made an indelible imprint on American pop culture, and the family members, HOMER, MARGE, BART, LISA and MAGGIE, are television icons. The Simpsons reside in the town of Springfield. HOMER (Dan Castellaneta) works as a safety inspector at the local nuclear powerplant; MARGE (Julie Kavner) tries to keep the peace in her family; BART (NancyCartwright) is the mischievous 10-year-old hellion; eight-year-old LISA (Yeardley Smith) is the intelligent, saxophone-playing, vegetarian member of the family; and baby MAGGIE conveys emotions via pacifier sucks.
