10/02/2012 (10:01PM - 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : JASMINE AND CROSBY EXPLAIN AN EMOTIONAL LESSON TO JABBAR WHILE KRISTINA LEARNS TO ACCEPT A NEW NORMAL; JOEL PUTS HIS FAITH IN VICTOR WHILE HE TRIES OUT A NEW ACTIVITY AND SARAH BEGINS TO SEE SENSITIVITIES IN HER NEW BOSS -- Jasmine (Joy Bryant) and Crosby (Dax Shepard) work as a parenting unit to teach Jabbar (Tyree Brown) an emotional lesson earlier than expected which may change the family dynamic. Despite Adam's (Peter Krause) reservations, Kristina (Monica Potter) encourages Max (Max Burkholder) to extend himself even though she may be too preoccupied to help him. Sarah (Lauren Graham) becomes more sensitive to her new boss Hank (guest star Ray Romano) while entertaining his daughter, and Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) finds a potential friend in young Ryan York (guest star Matt Lauria). Victor (Xolo Mariduena) attempts an after school activity and gives Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) a glimpse of their future family.

DESCRIPTION: (from NBC's press release, April 2013) NBC has announced the renewal of five key drama series for the 2013-14 season: "Revolution," "Chicago Fire," "Parenthood," "Grimm" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." All have been given 22-episode orders. "Parenthood," adapted from the 1989 feature film, examines the colorful Braverman family, and all its foibles and triumphs. The series is executive produced by Oscar winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind," "Frost/Nixon"), Emmy winner Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights") and Lawrence Trilling ("Pushing Daisies"). The series is produced by Universal Television and Imagine Entertainment. "Parenthood" grew this season versus last by 8 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.8 rating from a 2.6) and also increased by 8 percent year-to-year in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.6 million). This season's last seven "Parenthood" telecasts beat both the ABC and CBS drama competition in the time period in 18-49.
