"Pilot" -- Music legend and entertainment icon Rayna Jaymes, one of the industry's top female vocalists for two decades, suddenly discovers her passion for the business is not enough to compete with the new generation of talent lighting up the charts. Reluctant to accept the emerging trend in the business, she refuses to be steamrolled by her longtime label, which she helped build. But when Rayna's label wants her to tour as the opening act for newcomer Juliette Barnes, and when she refuses, the stage is set for the ultimate power struggle for popularity, on "Nashville," THURSDAY, JANUARY 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. "Nashville" stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Charles Esten as Deacon Claybourne, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Robert Ray Wisdom as Coleman Carlisle and Powers Boothe as Lamar Wyatt.

Guest starring in "Pilot" are Judith Hoag as Tandy Wyatt, JD Souther as Watty White and Burgess Jenkins as Randy Roberts. Co-stars include Lennon Stella as Maddie, Maisy Stella as Daphne, David Alford as Bucky Dawes, Ed Amatrudo as Glenn Goodman, Todd Truly as Marshall Evans and Sylvia Jeffries as Juliette's Mother.

"Nashville" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. This program carries a TV-PG,L parental guideline.
