02/10/2013 (09:00PM - 11:08PM) (Sunday) : SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE IN THE '80'S: LOST AND FOUND" (9-11 p.m.) Following up on his critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated documentary "Live From New York: The First 5 Years of Saturday Night Live," writer-director-producer Kenneth Bowser ("Easy Riders & Raging Bulls") has created a look at the roller coaster ride that SNL endured throughout the 80's. The stories, as told by many of the show's biggest stars, take SNL all over the map -- from near cancellation, to re-invention and back again. Viewers will get a rare, intimate look at the behind-the-scenes changes at the most influential television comedy in history and its winding journey after such an auspicious beginning to firmly rooting itself as the comedy institution it has become over the last 30 years.

DESCRIPTION:
(from NBC's press release, August 2012) SNL enters its 38th season on September 15 with host Seth MacFarlane. The Emmy Award-winning comedian and "Family Guy" creator recently directed and lent his voice to the blockbuster feature film, "Ted," starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. Frank Ocean will also make his SNL debut alongside MacFarlane. Ocean released his studio debut album "Channel Orange," in July 2012 to widespread critical acclaim. He originally gained notoriety within the industry for his writing collaborations with top artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Beyonce.
