"The Second Act" - When Frankie is suddenly fired from Ehlert Motors, she embarks on a quest not to repeat mistakes from the past by taking any crummy job that comes her way, deciding to go instead to tech school to secure a real career. Meanwhile, school has begun and Axl is starting his Senior year in high school, Sophomore Sue takes on the task of mentoring new freshman Jenna (Bailey Buntain, "Bunheads"), and Mike is upset with Brick when he can't be bothered to put his book down to meet some of Mike's friends after a softball game, on "The Middle," WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. "The Middle" stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie, Neil Flynn as Mike, Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue and Atticus Shaffer as Brick.

Guest starring are Brian Doyle-Murray as Mr. Ehlert, Chris Kattan as Bob Weaver, Brock Ciarlelli as Brad Bottig, Blaine Saunders as Carly, Peter Breitmayer as Pete Miller, Christopher Darga as Mr. Farrar, Bailey Buntain as Jenna, Robert Scott Wilson as Ben, Mark DeCarlo as Mr. Morrison, Harrison Miller as Brian Morrison, Audrey Moore as O.T.I. lady, Justin Baker as student no. 1 and Dwana White as student no. 2.
