WING LAM, CO-FOUNDER OF WAHOO'S FRESH TACO,
TRAVELS TO MOBILE, ALAMABA, ON ABC'S "SECRET MILLIONAIRE"
"Wing Lam: Mobile, AL" - Wing Lam is co-founder of Wahoo's Fresh Taco. With more than 60 restaurants in four states across the country, he made his first million when he was just 27 years old. Lam travels to Mobile, AL, a city still recovering from the devastating Gulf Oil Spill of 2010, with a mission to find deserving people and organizations in need. During his week-long visit, he meets a number of grass-roots organizations that touch and move him in amazing ways, including: Tri-Costal Community Outreach, a non-profit that provides immediate and long-term humanitarian services to low and moderate level income individuals and families in the Mobile area, as well as 15 Place, a day shelter that serves as a one-stop center for the homeless. The shelter offers meals, showers, laundry facilities and other assistance and programs to homeless men, women and children. Lam also meets a local crabber and spends time with his family, learning about the current state of the fishing industry. After a week of getting to know these people and organizations, he shares the surprise of a lifetime with them on "Secret Millionaire" SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Based on the hit UK series of the same name, each episode of "Secret Millionaire" follows one of America's most successful business people for one week as they leave behind their lavish lifestyles, sprawling mansions and luxury jets, conceal their true identities, and go to live and volunteer in some of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in the country. Their mission is to discover deserving individuals who continually sacrifice everything to help those in need, and ultimately encourage others to do the same. Throughout this incredible, life-changing experience, the Secret Millionaires attempt to remain undiscovered, coming face to face with extraordinary people battling the odds every day of their lives. On the final day, in an emotional and dramatic climax, they reveal their true identities. Ultimately, the millionaires each give away a great deal of their own money, changing lives forever and encouraging others to keep giving back.
