NEW YORK - August 22, 2013 - Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings travel to Candlestick Park in San Francisco, Calif., to take on Colin Kaepernick and the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, in a Sunday Night Football preseason matchup. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Calling Vikings-49ers is seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 28th season as the voice of the NFL's premier primetime package; 14-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who has won the Emmy for Outstanding Event Analyst in each of his four seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.

In addition to the Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC, NBC Sports Group's NFL coverage also includes digital content and social media extensions that are available online.

For the sixth consecutive season, the entire Sunday Night Football schedule will be streamed live online. NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets, will stream all SNF games televised on NBC.

The video stream will come directly from NBC's broadcast of SNF, and will include additional camera angles and interactive features.

AL MICHAELS HONORED BY PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME AND SPORTS BROADCASTING HALL OF FAME

Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels was honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 2, with the prestigious Pete Rozelle Radio & Television Award. Presented annually by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the award recognizes long-time exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football.

Michaels received the award during the annual Enshrines Gold Jacket Dinner in Canton, Ohio.

The Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame recently recognized Michaels for his "excellence and lifetime achievement", and announced that he will be a member of their 2013 Hall of Fame Class. Michaels will be inducted during a ceremony in New York in December.

10.1 MILLION WATCH HALL OF FAME GAME ON NBC

The August 4 Cowboys-Dolphins NFL/Hall of Fame Game averaged 10.1 million viewers, leading NBC to a primetime victory for the night, according to official national ratings released by The Nielsen Company.

In addition, NBC's telecast of the first game of the NFL preseason scored the highest rating in the Adults 18-49 demo (3.8) for any primetime telecast on any night on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox since Game 7 of the NBA Finals on June 20 (10.6). The Hall of Fame Game telecast was also No. 1 for the week in Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and all key Adult-Male demos.

The 10.1 million viewers for Cowboys -Dolphins is the most for an NFL preseason game in two years, since Chargers-Cowboys on NBC (10.7 million, August 21, 2011).

2013 SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

NBC will broadcast 19 primetime NFL games during the 2013 season, highlighted by: Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos hosting the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens on NFL Kickoff 2013 on Thursday, September 5; a classic NFC East rivalry as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants in the opening Sunday Night Football game on September 8; Manning returning home to Indianapolis to take on Andrew Luck and the Colts; and NBC's annual Thanksgiving night game, featuring the heated AFC North rivalry Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens.
