IT'S TIME FOR THESE NERDS TO COME OUT FROM BEHIND THEIR
POCKET PROTECTORS AND FACE A GROUP OF HOTTIES, ON ABC'S "WIPEOUT"
"Hotties vs. Nerds 3.0" - Back by popular demand, it's time for an all new edition of hotties vs. nerds on ABC's "Wipeout," THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), featuring 12 of the nerdiest nerds and 12 of the hottest hotties as they try to show what it really takes to dominate - looks or brainpower? The battle between those who choose to spend time in a library and those who choose to hang out by the pool kicks off with the 24 contestants taking on obstacles that include a "Medieval Castle" and a "Candy Shop" in the Qualifier round. Next on the course, 12 contestants go head to head against the bully of the sea, "Octopushy," leaving 6 of the brightest or cutest contestants with an invitation to Wipeout's party of the season, "Greatest Hits: Rave Edition." While this might be the first party for some of these nerds, their intelligence could carry them to the next round. The top 3 contestants to successfully get their rave on will face the Wipeout Zone, but only 1 will walk away with $50,000 as the winner of this epic battle.
"Wipeout" has successfully taped over 100 episodes, a feat we'll be celebrating all season long. In addition, the series recently won the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show for the second year in a row.
Each week, 24 energetic new contestants of all ages, shapes and sizes go head to head through four rounds of demanding but hilarious obstacle courses to win the title of Wipeout Champion and the $50,000 grand prize. In the end, only one contestant will be victorious, while everyone else will Wipeout!
"Wipeout" executive producers are Matt Kunitz ("101 Ways to Leave a Game Show," "Fear Factor") and Scott Larsen. Kevin Wehrenberg, Trice Barto and J. Rupert Thompson are co-executive producers. The series is produced by Endemol USA.
