Series Star Lea Thompson Directs

Burbank, CA (December 3, 2013) - Bay is challenged by the demands of her new art teacher and pushed around on the field hockey yard in an all new episode of "Switched at Birth," airing Monday, January 20, 2014 at 8:00PM ET/PT on ABC Family.

When her art teacher (guest star Sandra Bernhard, "Roseanne") proves to not be easily impressed, Bay is pushed to re-examine her talents. And adding to her discomfort is her forced commitment to the new Carlton field hockey team. Daphne makes a mistake at the clinic, and Campbell (guest star RJ Mitte, "Breaking Bad") helps her correct it. Kathryn introduces her new friend Renzo (guest star Alec Mapa, "Ugly Betty") to John.

Meanwhile, Emmett thinks he may have discovered who has been vandalizing cars at Carlton.

"Your Body is a Battleground" was written by James Stoteraux & Chad Fiveash, and directed by Lea Thompson.

"Switched at Birth" is executive-produced by Lizzy Weiss ("Blue Crush"), Paul Stupin ("Make It or Break It"), and John Ziffren ("Melissa & Joey," "Make It or Break It"). The third season finale of the Peabody Award-winning series airs Monday, August 18th at 8:00PM ET/PT. "Switched at Birth" remains one of basic cable's strongest dramas this summer, ranking as cable TV's #1 series in its time period in key female demos. The critically-acclaimed "Switched at Birth" tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Despite overwhelming socio-economic and ethnic differences, both families must learn to co-exist as parents and blend their lives into one for the sake of their daughters. "Switched at Birth" has been honored with a Peabody Award as well as a Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming and an Imagen Award for Best Primetime Program.
