04/22/2014 (09:31PM - 10:00PM) (Tuesday) : MEL TEACHES HENRY A LESSON...[emitted phrase] AND THE FISHER WOMEN TAKE A STAND-When Mel (J.K. Simmons) thinks Henry (Eli Baker) is becoming a slacker, he takes him into work to show him what success looks like. Seeing his dad in action, Henry learns an unexpected lesson that helps him step out of his father's shadow. Meanwhile, Joyce (Jenna Elfman) and Katie (Ava Deluca-Verley) decide that in Mel's absence, they need to stand up for themselves, which makes for a couple of bold, and embarrassing, confrontations in the returns department of a furniture store. Lance Lim also stars. Voice over by Jason Bateman. Bill Fagerbakke, Carla Jimenez, Matthew Glave, Logan Miller, Aloma Wright, Jean Villepique and Bashir Gavriel also guest star.

DESCRIPTION: (from NBC's press release, July 2013) Jenna Elfman has been cast in the upcoming NBC comedy "Growing Up Fisher." Elfman will play the role of Joyce Fisher, the wife of Mel Fisher (J.K. Simmons) - the proud family patriarch who does not let his blindness affect him as a father, husband and breadwinner. Elfman recently appeared on NBC's "1600 Penn" and is best known for her role on "Dharma and Greg," for which she garnered a Golden Globe Award, three Emmy Award nominations. "Growing Up Fisher" (formerly known as "The Family Guide") is from Universal Television and Aggregate Films. It is executive produced by DJ Nash, Jim Garavente and Jason Bateman, who also serves as narrator. The series will premiere in midseason for NBC.
