"Cassie" (Milwaukee, WI) - Cassie, who was physically fit throughout her childhood and adolescence, became pregnant unexpectedly at age 21, ultimately making the heart-wrenching decision to give her son up for adoption. That decision has haunted her for the past 18 years, and she punished herself by overeating, gaining nearly 200 pounds in the process. Though Cassie desperately wants to meet her son for the first time, she is ashamed to reach out to him before losing her excess weight. Last year, Cassie wrote a letter to trainer and transformation specialist Chris Powell asking for help. Her yearlong transformation will be featured on the hit series "Extreme Weight Loss," airing TUESDAY, JULY 29 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.
With her 40th birthday approaching, 347-pound Cassie will face one of the most turbulent years of her life. Long since married, while she works toward great success in fitness and weight loss, she also will be forced to reassess her relationship with her husband.
Chris will need to call in reinforcements to help Cassie achieve her goals: Green Bay Packers great (and "EWL" guest trainer) Donald Driver, a fitness guru and local hero in her hometown.
For Cassie, huge questions will haunt her every step of the way: will she get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet her son? Will he be willing to have a relationship with her?
Also in the episode, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito teaches Cassie how to make a healthy hamburger.
