LEGENDARY, ACADEMY AWARD(R)-WINNING ACTRESS CLORIS LEACHMAN AND ACTRESS & SINGER PIA ZADORA SWAP LIVES FOR ONE WEEK, ON ABC'S "CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP," WEDNESDAY, JULY 8

"Cloris Leachman/Pia Zadora" - Legendary, Academy and Emmy Award(R)-Winning Actress Cloris Leachman and Golden Globe Award(R)-Winning Actress and singer Pia Zadora are featured on "Celebrity Wife Swap," WEDNESDAY, JULY 8 (10:00--11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Cloris Leachman is an Academy Award ("The Last Picture Show") and nine-time Emmy Award winning ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show") actress who lives in the quaint and quiet community of Topanga Canyon, CA with her daughter Dinah, Dinah's husband Tom and their daughter Hallelujah.

Cloris is a lover of nature, and at 89 years old, she is still very active regularly spending time outside jumping on the trampoline with Hallelujah and taking walks around the neighborhood. Due to a sprained ankle, Cloris is in a wheelchair, but it's not slowing her down from her regular routine. Tom and Dinah own a candle store in town where they make and sell artisan candles. Dinah is the primary caretaker of the home handling all of the domestic duties, including cooking meals for the family - all of who are vegetarian - while Tom enjoys time nearby in his self-proclaimed "man cave."

Pia Zadora is a Golden Globe Award-winning ("Butterfly") actress and singer who lives in Las Vegas, NV with her husband Michael and son from a previous marriage, Jordan. Michael and Pia met when he was a police officer handling her case regarding a stalker. Pia enjoys staying inside with the blinds drawn, air conditioning on high and a fire always crackling. Pia is not a fan of the outdoors and calls herself a "germaphobe," regularly venturing out in protective hats, gloves and masks. Pia is not a disciplinarian when it comes to Jordan who loves to cook but is not responsible for any cleanup or chores around the home. Pia still enjoys performing and has a regular gig at Piero's on the Vegas Strip where Michael and Jordan enjoy lavish dinners, with steaks a staple, as this family loves to eat meat as part of their regular diet.

When it's time for the swap, Cloris and Pia arrive at their new homes and are immediately not happy. With the air conditioning on high, Cloris is cold and wants to let the sunshine in. Pia, not a fan of the outdoors, feels like the home is too open with bugs and "critters" all over. When the women meet their new families, Cloris learns she is going out for dinner and must wear Pia's protective gear as she steers her motorized scooter outside. Meanwhile, Pia, who is an avid lover of meat, sees that Dinah is cooking a gourmet vegetarian meal for the family. Sitting outside to enjoy dinner, Pia hits a breaking point when a bug is found inside someone's food, having flown in during the cooking process. Pia has had enough and storms off to her room for the night. When it's time for the women to change things up and make their own rules, Cloris wants to get Michael and Jordan moving and takes them to a mixed martial arts studio where Michael finds himself face-to-face in the ring with a fighter. Michael and Jordan also take Cloris to Piero's for a night on the town, but Cloris is less than pleased when her steak dinner arrives to the table. Back in Topanga Canyon, Pia wants to close up the house and turn on the air conditioning, all the while getting a frosty reception from Cloris' family. Pia also introduces Hallelujah to meat while taking the family out to dinner, causing some friction between Tom, Dinah and Pia. In the end, Pia wants Dinah to get a break and take time out for herself.

"Celebrity Wife Swap" features two women of celebrity families trading households, lifestyles and children (but not bedrooms) for one week. During that time, the women - and swapped families - learn what it is like to live in someone else's shoes, but everything changes during the second half of the week when the women make their own rules and get the chance to run the household their way. At the end of the week, the couples reunite for a raw, honest and highly-charged exchange of views in which they make frank assessments of one another and discuss the experience.

"Celebrity Wife Swap" is produced by Zodiak Los Angeles. Bruce Toms, Tony Yates, Alex Cross, Michael Davies, Dave Shikiar, Joel Karsberg and Cem Yeter are executive producers. It is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.

This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
