ON THE EVE OF TRUMP'S 100TH DAY IN OFFICE, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE BIGGEST STORY ON EARTH ASSESSES HIS 'LEARNING CURVE' SUNDAY, APRIL 30 AT 8 PM ET/PT ON SHOWTIME(R)

NEW YORK, NY - April 28, 2017 -- As Donald Trump reaches the ballyhooed milestone of 100 days in office, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE BIGGEST STORY ON EARTH sets out to answer a fundamental question: not what the president has achieved so far, but what he has - and hasn't - learned so far in his tenure. In a week when Republicans take another run at repealing and replacing Obamacare, the administration announces broad principles for sweeping tax form, and a government shutdown at week's end looms, THE CIRCUS covers it all against the backdrop of Trump's evolution in his new job. In this season's seventh and penultimate episode, "Learning Curve," airing Sunday, April 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME, co-hosts Mark Halperin, John Heilemann and Mark McKinnon speak to influential players inside the administration, on Capitol Hill, and elsewhere in Washington to assess the education of the president.

This week's episode features McKinnon and Heilemann's conversation with GOP strategist Alex Castellanos over late-night cigars, where the veteran operative offers insight into Trump's evolution from candidate to commander-in-chief. Also this week McKinnon goes behind-the-scenes at the White House press briefing, and later catches up with Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway ahead of the Administration announcing its proposal for massive tax reform. Meanwhile Halperin speaks with Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, a central player in crafting the President's proposed tax plan and negotiating a budget ahead of Friday's deadline; and Heilemann gauges what key members on Capitol Hill believe the President has learned in 100 days, including the second-most powerful Democrat in the House of Representatives, Steny Hoyer from Maryland.

THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE BIGGEST STORY ON EARTH is hosted by New York Times bestselling co-authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann (Game Change and Double Down). THE CIRCUS is produced by Left/Right (a part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group) for SHOWTIME. Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, Banks Tarver and Ken Druckerman serve as executive producers.
