"20/20" reports on young Olympic hopeful, Baillie Gibson, who alleges she was coerced into a three-year sexual relationship with her University of Arizona coach, Craig Carter. Carter claims the relationship was not only consensual, but that Baillie initiated it. "20/20" features the details about Carter's alleged threats of violence including text messages and a phone recording of his threats. Carter has been arrested and charged with four counts including assault and stalking and has pled not guilty. Baillie has brought a civil suit against Carter alleging sexual assault. In response, Carter has countersued Baillie alleging defamation. Both sides deny the allegations.
Correspondent Deborah Roberts sits down with Baillie; Julie Labonte, Baillie's former teammate and roommate; and ESPN Reporter John Barr, featuring his exclusive phone interview with Carter - in which he claims Baillie provoked him by telling him to hit her and denies forcing Baillie into a sexual relationship. Baillie denies she provoked Carter. The hour also includes interviews with Billie Jo and Bernie Gibson, Baillie's parents; features a 911 call from a student who witnessed Carter allegedly harassing Baillie and a police interrogation video of Carter before his arrest - where he admits to threatening Baillie with a box cutter; and looks into the actions the school took in light of the accusations. Due to the college football broadcast schedule, "20/20" airs only on the West Coast on Saturday, Nov. 18 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. PST), on ABC. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 11/10/17)
