NEW EPISODE OF 'WHAT WOULD YOU DO?' INSPIRED BY STORIES IN THE NEWS OF RACISM AND CONFLICT

'What Would You Do?' Airs Friday, June 22 (9:01 - 10:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC

A new episode of "What Would You Do?," airing Friday, June 22 (9:01 - 10:01 p.m. EDT), looks at themes of racism and conflict that are repeatedly in the news, including the viral video of an attorney's racist rant in which he disparages Spanish-speaking workers at a New York City restaurant and the report of Kansas parents billed $132,000 after their 5-year-old son knocked over a glass sculpture on display at a community center.

"What Would You Do?" with anchor John Quiones reveals how people behave when they think no one is watching by using hidden cameras to record people's real reactions to thought-provoking scenarios created by actors.

Friday, June 22 scenarios include:

· A white mom starts scolding her adopted Hispanic child for speaking Spanish and ordering authentic Spanish dishes at a restaurant. She tells the child that she should be speaking English. What will others say? Will they step in?

· A mother is at a café, which displays fine art on the walls, with her three young children. The mother steps out, asking fellow diners to keep an eye on her children. While gone, one child takes a marker and starts drawing on the artwork. Will anyone stop the child? What will others say when the mother returns? (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 7/24/14)

· A group of diners refuse to leave a tip for a lesbian waitress because they disagree with her lifestyle. How will other diners react?

· A young man is bragging about proposing to his girlfriend with a giant, sparkly ring that she doesn't know is a fake diamond. After he pops the question, will anyone tell her it's not the real thing?

· A woman approaches strangers, asking them to stand in as her "fake boss" for a few minutes since she was recently let go and wants to appease her mother who is visiting from out of town. Will anyone help her out?
