IDIOMATIC, Season 2 (Sundance Now Exclusive, Foreign Language)

Season 1 Trailer

Idiomatic follows the life and times of an urban, bilingual, environmentally conscious left-wing couple in their thirties: Aino (Anna Paavilainen), who's originally from Finnish Lapland, and Swedish-speaking Micke (Elmer Bck). In the second season, they consider starting a family, which is easier said than done! Aino and Micke have settled in a wealthy neighborhood in Helsinki where they live in Micke's parents' apartment. They share the apartment with Aino's unemployed brother, who's still trying to figure out what to do with his life. When Aino hears that a friend is pregnant, she and Micke discuss starting a family. Are they ready to become parents? Is their relationship ready for a new family member? Is the time right to have a baby, especially now that their careers are at a critical turning point? DESCRIPTION:
(from Sundance Now's web site, July 2020) Idiomatic follows the life and times of an urban, bilingual, environmentally conscious left-wing couple in their thirties: Aino, who’s originally from Finnish Lapland, and Swedish-speaking Micke. They are forced to move to an upper-class neighborhood, into an apartment owned by Micke’s wealthy parents, who also live next door. In addition to Micke’s parents, his childhood friend lives in the same building. When Aino’s yokel brother moves into their guest room, people from all walks of life meet under the same roof: thirtysomethings and their parents, different family cultures, country people, urban people, Finnish and Swedish speaking people, middle class and blue-collar workers, right-wingers and left-wingers, childhood friends who have lost touch, and first and foremost, a couple who are still getting to know each other.
