Part oddball comedy, part mystery, this unique Australian series paints a lighthearted portrait of a recently disgraced city cop, Toby Banks (Toby Truslove, Bad Mothers, House Husbands), who has been transferred to the seemingly-quiet, idyllic coastal town of Coolum Beach to man the night duty desk. His job is to answer the late evening phone calls from locals - moments of midnight madness that reveal the bizarre truth of the town: a place where people turn into chickens, mermen go to the school dance and a mysterious radio jingle can transform you into a lawn-mowing zombie. Assisted by night security man Gregor (Barry Crocker, The Adventures Of Barry McKenzie), Banks wearily sets out to investigate these "strange calls."
