WHEN A BELOVED HAIRSTYLIST AND DEVOTED MOTHER OF THREE VANISHES WITHOUT A TRACE, A QUIET FLORIDA COMMUNITY IS THRUST INTO A MULTISTATE INVESTIGATION
Co-Anchor Deborah Roberts Reports on an All-New '20/20,' Friday, Nov. 21, on ABC and Streams Next Day on Disney+ and Hulu
On Mother's Day in 2018, hairstylist and devoted mother of three Joleen Cummings should have been celebrating her 34th birthday. Instead, she disappeared without a trace from her tight-knit Florida community. Known for her reliability and unwavering commitment to her children, her sudden absence raised immediate concern. Her mother filed a missing person report, prompting authorities to launch an urgent investigation.
After speaking with Joleen's ex-husband and boyfriend, and clearing both, detectives found their first major lead: her SUV, abandoned in a parking lot near the salon where she worked. Surveillance video captured an unidentified figure parking the vehicle in the middle of the night - a discovery that shifted the case into high gear. As investigators closed in on a suspect, the search exploded into a multistate investigation, ultimately uncovering a chilling trail of deception.
Co-anchor Deborah Roberts reports on this gripping case of murder, false identities and manipulation in an all-new, two-hour "20/20: The Final Cut," airing FRIDAY, NOV. 21 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC and streams next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
Interviews feature Joleen's mother, her close friends from beauty school and the beauty salon, and the detectives whose relentless work helped bring the case to light.
