Ben Sasse, the former United States senator from Nebraska, joins CBS News for an interview and town hall with Scott Pelley that will air on 60 MINUTES and a special edition of THINGS THAT MATTER, Sunday, April 26. As Sasse battles a terminal pancreatic cancer diagnosis, the former senator offers last lessons about what America can be - and what really matters.

The 60 MINUTES interview will feature Sasse's reflections on American politics and policies, as well as lessons he's learned while facing a terminal illness and how he thinks about life and death.

The special edition of THINGS THAT MATTER will feature an extended version of the interview with Sasse followed by a town hall with the former senator, moderated by Pelley, and include questions from attendees who are facing their own health challenges and members of the faith community.

TUNE IN: The 60 MINUTES interview will air at 7:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+*. The extended version of the interview will become available on 60 MINUTES Overtime and the 60 MINUTES podcast. The special edition of THINGS THAT MATTER, featuring the extended version of the interview followed by a town hall with Americans asking Sasse about faith, family and mortality, will be available Sunday night on Paramount+ and on CBS News digital platforms (CBSNews.com and YouTube). Additionally, the special will air on CBS News 24/7 at 9:00 PM. The town hall will publish on Free Press digital platforms.
