When police respond to a break-in at a home in quiet Grovetown, Georgia, they soon find themselves in the middle of a homicide investigation after discovering the homeowner, Kay Parsons, beaten in her garage. The crime scene is gruesome; the lead investigator for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office stated, "I've never seen someone beaten this bad." Investigators quickly learn that the home next door also appears to have been burglarized. As they search both scenes and work to uncover why these neighboring homes were targeted on the same day, a tangled web of lies, betrayal and a secret relationship emerges, and a shocking tale of romantic rivalry is uncovered.
