'20/20: The After Show' Podcast Returns for a Second Season

"20/20" returns for a brand-new season of true crime, helmed by co-anchors David Muir and Deborah Roberts, beginning Friday, Sept. 25. "20/20" continues to reign as television's No. 1 newsmagazine, delivering compelling true crime stories, exclusive interviews and in-depth reporting to millions of viewers each week.

The season premiere of "20/20" features co-anchor Deborah Roberts' reporting on the murder of college student Claire Gravel, who was found strangled off the side of the road just six miles from her apartment in Salem, Massachusetts. For years, there were no arrests, and even though new evidence was uncovered, the case eventually went cold. That is until 2007, when a mother living in a nearby town was attacked in an eerily similar way to Gravel. As detectives zero in on a suspect, this investigation breathes new life into Gravel's murder case. Roberts goes inside the case and interviews Gravel's family, the victim who survived the 2007 attack, as well as law enforcement officials who helped solve the murder in "The Salem Strangler," Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC, streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

Beginning Season 49, "20/20" continues to dominate in true crime versus the competition. For the 2025-2026 television season, "20/20" ranked as Friday's No. 1 newsmagazine in Total Viewers, leading NBC's "Dateline" (+18%/+565,000 - 3.727 million vs. 3.162 million) for the fourth year in a row (since the 2022-2023 season). "20/20" improved on the previous season in Total Viewers (+7%/+250,000 - 3.727 million vs. 3.477 million) and Adults 18-49 (+1%/3,000 - 435,000 vs. 432,000) based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.**

"20/20: The After Show," the program's companion podcast, offers a behind-the-scenes listen of the stories from each week's "20/20" broadcast. Hosted by co-anchor Deborah Roberts and produced in partnership with The ABC News Podcast Network, the podcast offers an exclusive, inside look at the lucky breaks and strange-but-true moments in each "20/20" episode, plus interviews with those featured on-air and those involved in reporting and producing the show. Now in its second season, new episodes of "20/20: The After Show" post weekly on Mondays.
