NBC to Wrap 'Journeyman,' Revive 'Bee' in December
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is bringing back "The Singing Bee" while newcomer "Journeyman" will wrap its 13-episode run with a pair of episodes during the week of December 17.

Both developments, confirmed via listings updates this afternoon, come as the Peacock prepares to unveil its January lineup.

As for specifics, "Journeyman" will air its 12th and 13th installments on Monday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 19 at 10:00/9:00c respectively, leading out of two-hour episodes of "Clash of the Choirs" on both nights.

NBC has yet to commit to any episodes beyond its initial 13-episode order despite asking for three additional scripts last month.

The lack of a decision isn't a result of the strike however as fellow freshman "Chuck" and "Life" each received their back nine orders on Monday.

Meanwhile, "The Singing Bee" will rejoin the network's lineup with full hours on Friday, December 21 and Friday, December 28 at 8:00/7:00c. The news spells the end of a nearly two-month hiatus for the series, which hasn't aired since October 30.

To date, the Peacock has committed to 19 episodes (15 half-hour episodes and four one-hour episodes) of "Bee" - the last three of which are expected to turn up sometime in 2008.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: The original report incorrectly referred to the total number of "Bee" episodes as 22. The correct number is 19 - 15 half-hour episodes and four one-hour episodes.]
