AMERICAN RUST (Showtime) - The pay channel has pulled the plug on the Jeff Daniels-led drama after one season. "We can confirm that American Rust will not be moving forward with a second season," Showtime said in a statement. "We would like to thank our partners at Boat Rocker, our talented showrunner Dan Futterman and the rest of the wonderful writers, and our amazing cast led by Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney." CSI: VEGAS (CBS) - Co-star Jorja Fox took to social media to announce she will not be returning for the series' second season. (@JorjaFoxofficia)
EXPATRIATES, THE/SON OF GOOD FORTUNE (Amazon) - Director Lulu Wang and producer Dani Melia have signed a first-look deal with Amazon Studios for their newly launched production company Local Time. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Creator Bruce Miller has signed a new three-year overall deal with ABC Signature. The pact keeps him at the helm of the streamer's flagship drama as well as covers any future development via his White Oak Pictures banner. (Deadline.com)
IMMIGRANT (Hulu) - Annaleigh Ashford has been cast in the Kumail Nanjiani-led limited series as Irene: "An accountant by trade, Irene is the wife of Chippendales founder Steve Banerjee (Nanjiani), falling in love over a shared passion for tax loopholes and revenue expansion. Shy and unassuming at first, she steadily finds her footing within the company, growing into a formidable behind-the-scenes powerhouse." (Deadline.com)
PHYSICAL (Apple TV+) - Murray Bartlett is bound for the show's second season as Vincent "Vinnie" Green, "a charismatic fitness instructor, weight loss guru and late-night infomercial pioneer. He and Sheila are both friends and rivals who struggle privately with personal demons." (Variety.com)
PITCH PERFECT (Peacock) - Flula Borg will reprise his role of Pieter Krämer opposite Adam Devine's Bumper Allen for the TV series: "Invited by his old friend Pieter Krämer (Borg), Bumper moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin. Pieter has transitioned from German a cappella star to discredited German music manager. He signs Bumper as his only client and brings him to Berlin to pursue his dreams." (Deadline.com)
