BAD MONKEY (Apple TV+) - John Ortiz is bound for the Vince Vaughn-led drama in another recasting. Ortiz will play Rogelio, "a good Key West police detective who comes to his best friend and ex-partner, Andrew Yancy, with a life-changing assignment. It further complicates things that Rogelio's husband is also Yancy's attorney." Arturo Luis Soria was previously cast in said role. (Deadline.com)
BIG D, THE (TBS) - The cable channel has pulled the plug on the dating competition series, weeks ahead of its July 7 premiere. The report indicates said decision was made as a $10 million "tax write-off" as part of the cost-cutting moves by parent Warner Bros. Discovery. "We're assessing our schedule to ensure we have the right content mix to support our network strategies. We are grateful to JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, and the executive producers of Big D for their partnership through the process," a T-Nets spokeswoman told the publication. (Deadline.com)
CHUCKY (Syfy/USA Network) - Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano will reunite with their "Bound" co-star Jennifer Tilly on an upcoming episode of the series. Sutton Stracke will also be featured on said installment. (EW.com)
FRIEND OF THE FAMILY, A (Peacock) - Joe Chrest will recur on the limited series as Bishop Matthew Paulsen, "a local bishop in Pocatello, ID. He is an important authority figure in the Brobergs' life and plays a powerful role in the community. He believes in protecting members of his congregation and will make choices that he believes are righteous but later regrets." (Deadline.com)
GAME OF THRONES JON SNOW PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Kit Harington's Jon Snow is the latest target of a proposed "Game of Thrones" spin-off series. No specifics or auspices were given for the project other than it is in "early development" and Harington is attached to reprise the role. (THR.com)
HOME ECONOMICS (ABC) - Co-creators Michael Colton and John Aboud have signed an overall deal with the show's producer Lionsgate Television. (Deadline.com)
WE THOUGHT WE WERE DONE (NBC) - Donald Faison and Abigail Spencer will star opposite Jon Cryer in the multi-camera comedy pilot, which "centers on Jim (Cryer) and Julia (Spencer) who, after an amicable divorce, decide to continue to raise their two young kids at the family home while taking turns on who gets to stay with them. Navigating the waters of divorce and child-sharing gets hilariously more complicated for Jim when the owner of his favorite sports team (Faison) enters the picture and wins Julia's heart." Faison plays Trey, "owner of the Boston Celtics, a proud MIT grad and Julia's new fiancé." Spencer's Julia is "the successful owner of her own crisis management firm." (Deadline.com)
WHITES, THE (Showtime, New!) - Ethan Hawke is attached to star in a limited series at the network based on Richard Price's novel of the same name: "Every detective is haunted by their White Whale, the perpetrator who got away because the justice system failed. Billy Graves (Hawke), once a rising star in his department and former member of a group of well-respected cops called the "Wild Geese," walks away from NYPD Homicide and joins the Nightwatch division, where his cases end when he clocks out - but his past comes calling when a seemingly straightforward murder case involving a White Whale unfolds, threatening his career, enduring friendships, and family." Jez Butterworth is behind the project with T-Street's Ram Bergman, Rian Johnson and Nena Rodrigue; Under the Influence's Ethan Hawke and Ryan Hawke; and Price also executive producing for Civic Center Media and MRC Television. (Deadline.com)
WONDER MAN (A.K.A. UNTITLED DESTIN DANIEL CRETTON PROJECT) (Disney+) - "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" director Destin Daniel Cretton is set to team with writer Andrew Guest for a potential live-action Marvel Studios series about Wonder Man: "Known as Simon Williams, he was a founding member of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Avengers and, with a look that included a turtleneck, a red jacket and sunglasses, became a celebrity thanks to his day job as an actor and stuntman." No specifics about his MCU incarnation however were given. The duo will co-create the project and executive produce. (THR.com)
