AMERICAN CLASSIC (MGM+) - The upcoming comedy series has cast Len Cariou as Linus, "Richard and Jon's father, an actor, a puppet maker, and the founder of the Millersburg Festival Theater." He replaces the late Harris Yulin. Additionally, look for Sean Dino Johnson as Clarence/Joe Crowell, who "works two jobs and loves the MFT, and wants to be a part of Our Town, but is worried about how it will affect his livelihood"; Johnny McKeown as Hugo Booth, "Richard's assistant from New York City"; Phillip Johnson Richardson as Heath McCardle, "a member of the touring company performing in Nunsence at the MFT"; Billy Eugene Jones as Mr. Pat Paterson, "who married his wife, Pat, just out of high school, and now works as an accountant for a failing medical supply firm"; Andrea Jones-Sojola as Mrs. Pat Paterson, "who is thrilled to be a part of the production of Our Town"; Yaegal T. Welch as Dr. Derek Seale, "the town obstetrician who is most comfortable when handing out medical advice, something Richard and the cast often take advantage of"; Joseph Morales as Jeff Jeffries, "a loan officer at the local bank who has been working with Kristen and Jon for years"; Matt McGrath as Kenny Klaus, "the town's undertaker, who is old enough to remember seeing Richard and Kristen in Our Town"; and Terry Walters as Tina/Mrs. Gibbs, "a local community member who takes over the role of Mrs. Gibbs when Mrs. Pat runs away." AMERICAN LOVE STORY (FX) - Omari K. Chancellor has been cast as fashion designer Gordon Henderson in Ryan Murphy's latest anthology series. (Deadline.com, 7/14)
BERLIN NOIR (Apple TV+) - Tom Shankland will direct as well as executive produce the series, which recently cast Jack Lowden in the lead role of Bernie Gunther. (Deadline.com, 7/16)
BOSTON BLUE (CBS) - Bridget Moynahan will reprise her "Blue Bloods" role of Erin Reagan in the debut installment of the spin-off series. (Deadline.com, 7/18)
BRILLIANT MINDS (NBC) - Bellamy Young will recur on the show's second season as Dr. Amelia Frederick, "the clinical director for a long-term mental healthcare facility, Hudson Oaks. She is well-acquainted with the woes of the mental healthcare system. But despite her years of hands-on experience in the field, Amelia isn't jaded. Instead, she is passionate about destigmatizing long-term inpatient treatment and finding a solution to give her patients the best future possible. She becomes a worthy adversary for Dr. Wolf, and the two will go toe-to-toe this season." (Deadline.com, 7/14)
CAPTAIN PLANET (Netflix, New!) - Tara Hernandez is spearheading a live-action series based on the cult animated show at the streamer: "Conceived by Ted Turner, Captain Planet and the Planeteers follows five teenagers who tackle environmental disasters with the help of a superhero, Captain Planet." Berlanti Productions, Appian Way and Warner Bros. Television are behind the project with Greg Berlanti, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman also executive producing. Jono Matt, who co-wrote a proposed feature take on the series in 2016 with Glen Powell, will also receive a producer credit. (Deadline.com, 7/17)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Michael Bradway, who plays Severide's half-brother Jack Damon, will not return for the show's upcoming 14th season. Yesterday it was announced the actor had joined the cast of Prime Video's new drama "Every Year After." (TVLine.com, 7/17)
CHRISTINA ON THE COAST/FLIPPING EL MOUSSAS (HGTV) - The cable channel has reportedly pulled the plug on both reality projects. (Deadline.com, 7/16)
CRY WOLF (FX) - Brie Larson will star opposite Olivia Colman in the limited series, which has formally been greenlit by the network: "The project, inspired by the Danish series Ulven Kommer (Cry Wolf) by Maja Jul Larsen, is a psychological family thriller following a social worker (Colman) and a mother (Larson) thrust into crisis when the mother's teenage daughter alleges abuse, pushing both women to their limits as they navigate an impossible situation." The two executive produce alongside Sarah Treem, Ed Sinclair, Alena Smith, Maja Jul Larsen, Christian Rank, Claudia Saganario, and Melissa Bernstein for FX Productions, South of the River Pictures, and Special Interests. CRYSTAL LAKE (Peacock) - Callum Vinson has been tapped as a young Jason Voorhees on the "Friday the 13th" prequel series: "Crystal Lake is a town, a lake, and a summer camp in the franchise, the setting of the series. Voorhees drowned in the lake as a child, which led to his mother's killing spree at the camp to avenge his "death." Jason witnessed his mother's decapitation by a camp counselor, which sets him off on a murder spree of his own that haunts the area across 12 films." (Deadline.com, 7/18)
EVA LASTING (Netflix) - The streamer has confirmed the Colombian series will return for a fourth season. (Variety.com, 7/17)
FBI (CBS) - Former "Law & Order: SVU" series regular Juliana Aidén Martinez is back in business with Dick Wolf, joining the cast of "FBI" for its eighth season. No details were given about her role. (Deadline.com, 7/14)
HIGH POTENTIAL (ABC) - Mekhi Phifer will recur on the show's sophomore run as "a character who becomes involved in major crimes." (Variety.com, 7/14)
LANDMAN (Paramount+) - The show's sophomore season has cast Guy Burnet as Charlie Newsom, "a charming oil and gas engineer"; and Miriam Silverman as Greta Stidham, "an intimidating university admissions counselor." (Deadline.com, 7/16)
LAW & ORDER (NBC) - Mehcad Brooks is exiting the veteran drama after three seasons as Detective Jalen Shaw. It's understood co-stars Tony Goldwyn, Reid Scott, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi and Maura Tierney are set to come back. (Deadline.com, 7/18)
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE (Netflix) - The reboot series has cast Barrett Doss as Emily Henderson, "a charming woman who excels at interacting with people and handling numbers, which enables her to run the General Store. Emily kindly takes in Caleb, an orphan boy who wanders into town"; Mary Holland as Jemma James, "a confident woman who has an air of big city and is the town's busybody"; Michael Hough as Eli James, who "works for the railroad and is very supportive of the newcomers arriving in Independence"; Kowen Cadorath as Caleb, "a skinny, prairie handsome, pre-teen who has been orphaned and doesn't say much. Emily, who runs the General Store, takes Caleb in and gives him a job"; Thosh Collins as Louis, "White Sun's good-natured and levelheaded cousin"; Maclean Fish as Adam Scott, "who is boyish and handsome but soft. He appears as though he hasn't had a day of hardship in his life"; and Rebecca Amzallag as Lacey Aubert, "a beautiful and happily widowed outcast who owns a card room and bar on the edge of town." MEMORY OF A KILLER (FOX) - Richard Harmon is the latest addition to the upcoming drama as "Joe, a hitman on the rise working for Angelo (Patrick Dempsey) and Dutch (Michael Imperioli) in their clandestine crime business. Joe gets stuck with the grunt work - gathering recon and sorting getaway plans - but that puts him in prime position to witness Angelo's Alzheimer's decline. Joe knows he could make or break Angelo, but he also knows that choice could cost him everything." (Deadline.com, 7/14)
NEPO BABY (Hulu, New!) - Jack Henry Robbins, son of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, is developing a new comedy series at the streamer based on his viral character: "In the show created by Robbins, the world's least successful nepo baby, Jack Henry Robbins, attempts to make it big and grow up all on his own no matter what it takes (with help from his famous parents)." Sam Zvibleman is also on board to direct and executive produce alongside Peter Principato, Bryan Walsh, and Casey Neumeier at Artists First. (Deadline.com, 7/14)
RJ DECKER (ABC) - The Scott Speedman-led drama pilot has tapped Adelaide Clemens as Catherine Delacroix, "ex-wife of RJ Decker and an esteemed investigative journalist for the newspaper that once employed him as a photographer"; Bevin Bru as Melody "Mel" Romero, "current wife of RJ's ex and a hard-charging detective with the Fort Lauderdale PD; she liked RJ more when he was in prison"; and Kevin Rankin as Aloysius (al-lo-WISH-us) "Wish" Aiken, "RJ's former cellmate and the owner of a bar that celebrates (and sometimes perpetuates) the weirdness that is Florida." SHARDS, THE (FX) - Igby Rigney, Homer Gere and Graham Campbell will join Kaia Gerber in the network's Bret Easton Ellis adaptation, which has formally been ordered to series: "First unveiled as a serialized audiobook before hitting bookstands in 2023, The Shards is a dark coming-of-age tale with semi-autobiographical facets for Ellis. Set in Los Angeles in 1981, the story follows a 17-year-old version of Ellis during his final year at the elite Buckley prep school. Upending the character's world is the arrival of a mysterious new student, Robert Mallory, whose unsettling presence coincides with the activities of a serial killer known as The Trawler." Rigney will portray Ellis; with Gere as Robert Mallory; and Campbell as Thom Wright. Ellis, Ryan Murphy, Nick Hall, Kathleen McCaffrey, Brian Young, and director Max Winkler are the executive producers for 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Productions. (Deadline.com, 7/16)
SLIP (Roku) - Dakota Johnson and Ro Donnelly's TeaTime Pictures has signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television where they "will develop and produce scripted content for the indie studio targeting streaming and cable platforms." (Deadline.com, 7/14)
TRACKER (CBS) - Co-stars Eric Graise's Bobby Exley and Abby McEnany's Velma Bruin won't return for the series' third season, leaving Justin Harley's Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene's Reenie Green as the only series regulars. (TVLine.com, 7/18)
UNTITLED LARS KEPLER SERIES (Apple TV+) - The Liev Schreiber-led drama has added Chrissy Metz as Ida, "a single mother who struggles to make ends meet and faces a living nightmare after her children go missing"; Poorna Jagannathan as Quinn, "an FBI agent from DC who leans on Jonah to navigate the close-knit small town as an outsider while dealing with her personal life struggles"; and Gary Carr as Nathan, "a forensic investigator who is dedicated to Jonah but has reconciled with his feelings for Saga." UNTITLED NEWFOUNDLAND PROJECT (Netflix) - The Josh Hartnett-led limited series has added Natasha Henstridge as Jan and Joshua Close as Officer Jaxon Noseworthy. No other details were given. (Variety.com, 7/15)
VANDERPUMP VILLA (Hulu) - The streamer has commissioned a third season of the Lisa Vanderpump-led reality series. (Deadline.com, 7/18)

WONDER MAN (Disney+) - Arian Moayed will reprise his "Spider-Man: No Way Home" role of Agent Cleary on the series, "a high-ranking agent from the government agency known as the Department of Damage Control, who's responsible for dealing with the aftermath of events caused by superpowered individuals."
