ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (ABC) - Khandi Alexander will recur on the series in a top secret role starting with the show's January 21 episode. (Deadline.com, 1/15)
BECOMING UNCANCELED (E!, New!) - The network is in the early stages of developing "a TV series in which "canceled" celebrities live together in a house and seek redemption from America." Allison Wallach of FOX Entertainment Studios is behind the project. No other details were given. (THR.com, 1/15)
CALABASAS/THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END (Netflix) - "Bridgerton" creator Chris Van Dusen has signed an overall deal with the company where he'll continue to develop new series projects including the aforementioned duo. (Deadline.com, 1/13)
CRY WOLF (FX) - William Jackson Harper is the latest addition to the upcoming drama as Arthur, "Kath's (Olivia Colman) supervisor at Child Protective Services, who has a good sense of humor." (Deadline.com, 1/13)
DO YOU WANT KIDS? (ABC) - Daniel Stern has been released from the comedy pilot after the actor "was charged with a single misdemeanor charge of engaging or agreeing to engage in prostitution" on Monday. (Deadline.com, 1/15)
FALLOUT SHELTER (Amazon, New!) - Studio Lambert has scored a 10-episode greenlight from the streamer for a reality competition series based on the hit drama "Fallout": "Set inside Vault-Tec's bomb-proof vaults, Fallout Shelter sees a group of contestants take part in "escalating challenges, strategic dilemmas, and moral crossroads" as they chase a cash prize." Stephen Lambert, Tim Harcourt, Jack Burgess, Toni Ireland, Stephen Yemoh, Stephen Lovelock, Amina Badresingh, Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Athena Wickham, James Altman, and Todd Howard will executive produce for Kilter Films, Amazon MGM Studios, and Bethesda Game Studios. FIRE COUNTRY (CBS) - Tia Napolitano will depart the series as showrunner after the current fourth season to focus on development as part of her overall deal with CBS Studios. (Deadline.com, 1/16)
GOD OF WAR (Amazon) - Teresa Palmer has joined the video game adaptation as Phoebe/Sif, "Thor's wife and the goddess of family." (Deadline.com, 1/16)
GOLF (Netflix) - Gabe Hogan and Aida Osman will recur on the Will Ferrell-led comedy as Jerry, "Lance's personal trainer"; and Crystal, "Lance's childhood friend," respectively. (Deadline.com, 1/13)
HIGH POTENTIAL (ABC) - Susan Kelechi Watson is the latest to recur on the drama as "a woman from Karadec's (Daniel Sunjata) past" beginning with the show's January 27 installment. (Deadline.com, 1/15)
INSECURE (HBO) - Nine-time Emmy nominee Issa Rae has signed a three-year first-look film and TV production deal with Paramount Skydance Corporation. (Deadline.com, 1/14)
LAST MAN ON EARTH, THE (FRENCH) (Disney+, New!) - French comedian Artus will star in a localized adaption of the FOX series at the streamer due later this year: "After traveling across the country, Adam must face the facts: he is the last man on Earth. Free from everything, he enjoys the advantages of solitude... but remains desperately alone. However, he still holds out hope that another survivor exists. And perhaps even a female survivor." 20th Century Studios is producing. No other auspices were given. (Variety.com, 1/15)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Corey Cott's Jake Griffin has been promoted to regular on the veteran drama. Separately it was announced this week that the show's originally announced January 15 episode ("Corrosive") has been pulled indefinitely due to the presence of guest star Timothy Busfield "who was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and child abuse." LES BRUMES (Netflix, New!) - Matthieu Delaporte, Alexandre de La Patellière, and Sylvain Caron have landed a six-part series at the streamer based on Olivier Norek's book "Dans les brumes de Capelans" which "unfolds after an elusive killer disappears in the wake of a string of murders": "Anna, a mute young woman and the sole survivor, is urgently extracted to a windswept Atlantic island. There lives Victor Coste, a police officer who has exiled himself to the other side of the world. Cut off from everything, he accepts one last mission: to get Anna to talk, identify the killer, and prevent him from striking again. But when the world's densest fog rolls in, a race against time begins, as the island itself turns into a trap." Aude Albano at Pathé is producing with Fargo Films. (Variety.com, 1/12)
MATLOCK (CBS) - Edwin Hodge will guest on an upcoming installment as Langston, "the kind of guy who can show up late, knowing he'll charm everyone into forgetting about it as soon as he arrives. A double PhD in neuroscience and philosophy, he is a deep thinker... and a smooth talker." (Deadline.com, 1/16)
MR. & MRS. SMITH (Amazon) - Anna Ouyang Moench has been tapped as showrunner of the series' long-in-the-works second season. She succeeds series co-creator Francesca Sloane in said role. Previously announced leads Mark Eydelshteyn and Sophie Thatcher are still attached to the project however it's unclear if that is the case of the recurring roles (Lily-Rose Depp, Francesca Scorsese, Levon Hawke, Wagner Moura and Gael Garcia Bernal). (Deadline.com, 1/13)
ODD JOBS (Amazon, New!) - Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes have scored a series commitment from the streamer for an adult animated comedy: "In Odd Jobs, the year is 2127, the world is an extreme late-stage capitalist hellscape. The show follows a reluctant team of gig workers as they travel around the neo Midwest, doing the weirdest most dangerous tasks the ODD JOBS app demands." Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Ben Kalina, and Amie Karp will also executive produce for CBS Studios and Titmouse. (Deadline.com, 1/14)
OFF WEEKS, THE (Apple TV) - Annaleigh Ashford and Arian Moayed will star opposite Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller in the limited series. Ashford will play Jade, "Gus' (Stiller) next-door neighbor"; while Moayed is set as Angelo, "Gus' boss." (Deadline.com, 1/16)
ROOKIE, THE: NORTH (ABC) - Chris Sullivan has been cast in the spin-off series as Sgt. Nix, "a recently promoted Watch Commander whose heart still wants to be out on the street." (Deadline.com, 1/15)
SUPERFAKES (Peacock) - Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Jones Lee, and Keith Leung are the latest additions to the crime drama starring Lucy Liu and Ken Leung. No character details however were indicated. (Variety.com, 1/14)
UNTITLED ALEX DELAWARE PROJECT (Amazon) - Amazon MGM Studios is developing a drama based on Jonathan Kellerman's long-running psychological crime book series: "The novels focus on brilliant but reluctant L.A. psychologist Alex Delaware, who teams with hard-nosed LAPD detective Milo Sturgis to unravel complex, often disturbing murders by reading the minds, motives and hidden histories behind the evidence." Jennifer Johnson, who is also an EP on the studio's "Delphi," is behind the hour with Kellerman, Michael Rosenberg, Rachel Ghiazza, and Jackie Levine also executive producing for Audible. A previous adaptation was set up at FOX, Jerry Bruckheimer Television, and Warner Bros. Television in 2013 with Pam Veasey at the helm. (Deadline.com, 1/13)
WHITE LOTUS, THE (HBO) - Steve Coogan and Caleb Jonte Edwards are officially bound for the show's fourth season in top secret roles while Chris Messina is in early talks to likewise sign on. (Deadline.com, 1/16)
