ALIEN: EARTH (FX) - Emmy winner Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of the show's second season in a top secret role. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
AMERICAN BLUE (HBO Max) - The Milo Ventimiglia-led drama pilot has added Paulina Olszynski as Lisa "Matty" Matichak, "a patrol officer and mom to a child with special needs, determined to push through her daily challenges with Midwestern grit and a smile"; Algee Smith as Andre Quick, "a rookie patrol officer, a go-getter, whose family connections cause him grief on the job"; Jeremy Bobb as Joe Bebar, "a veteran patrol officer, burned out and angry at a world that's angry at him"; and Rich Sommer as Ray Kaluza, "Joliet's Chief of Police, who is struggling to steer his department through a crisis." AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Jessica Lange has signed onto the anthology series' 13th season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. Also on tap are Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode and Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery. (@ryanmurphyproductions, 4/6)
AMERICAN HUSTLERS (Hulu, New!) - Jim Campolongo is spearheading a new drama at the streamer: "'American Hustlers' is inspired by the popular true crime podcast and the book 'Until Someone Gets Hurt' by Sherrie Lueder. The series chronicles the exploits of Kuashal Niroula and Danny Garcia as they are roped into an impressive group of eccentric, like-minded con artists to form the 'gay grifters' swindling a bevy of unsuspecting victims out of millions in cash and property over a decade plus. Even when they escalated to murder they seemed unstoppable... until one unassuming everyman - Tyson Wrensch - decided to quit his job and devote his life to bringing them to justice." Rachel Kaplan and Alex Beattie will also executive produce for Absecon Entertainment with Stacey Book of Frequency Machine as an executive consultant. (Variety.com, 4/10)
BEEF (Netflix) - The streamer has renewed its overall deal with creator Lee Sung Jin. The multi-year extension covers both film and television. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
CALAMITIES (Amazon, New!) - Writer/director David Weil has scored a series commitment from Amazon MGM Studios: "Calamities is a gripping and propulsive Texas crime thriller like no other. After a drug deal explodes into violence, a quiet border town is thrust into a deadly collision course between a small-town sheriff looking for answers from her past, a sociopathic hit woman, an overly eager FBI agent, and a ruthless sect of the cartel." Natalie Laine Williams, Glen Powell, and Dan Cohen will also executive produce for Please Enjoy and Barnstorm, with Ryan Schwartz as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
COUNT MY LIES (Hulu) - Katherine LaNasa and Lou Diamond Phillips will both recur on the limited series. LaNasa will play Tracy, "Sloane's (Shailene Woodley) mom"; with Phillips as Paul, "the boyfriend of Tracy." (Deadline.com, 4/7)
DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Disney+) - Mike Colter and Finn Jones are expected to reprise their roles of Luke Cage and Iron Fist for the series' third season alongside Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. Both toplined their respective Netflix series as well as the "The Defenders." (Deadline.com, 4/4)
DAY, THE (Paramount+, New!) - Minnie Driver, Luca Pasqualino, and Louisa Harland will topline an eight-part heist thriller for the streamer: "The series opens from the police perspective, led by hostage negotiator Sylvia "Vox" Voxley (Minnie Driver), as she battles time and rising pressure to save the hostages. But as the crisis hurtles towards breaking point, the story rewinds - pulling viewers inside the bank to relive the same events through the eyes of the robbers and their hostages." DOC (FOX) - Emmy-winner Judd Hirsch will guest on the show's final two episodes this season as Herman Zweig,"a Holocaust survivor with an infectious zest for life and comes to Westside on the day of his 90th birthday for routine treatment... but when tragedy strikes and the hospital suddenly goes on lockdown, his optimism will be put to the test." DOGWOOD, THE (ABC, New!) - Gemma Baker has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Alphabet: "The Dogwood centers on a workaholic mom who leaves her marriage and quickly discovers she's the most sterotypical divorced dad anyone has ever met." FOX Entertainment Studios is producing. (Deadline.com, 4/10)
ETERNALLY YOURS (CBS) - The Eye has ordered the single-camera comedy pilot starring Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards to series. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
GOOD BONES (Amazon, New!) - Sam Lansky's "psychosexual short story" is being developed for TV series at Amazon MGM Studios "described as an erotic thriller set in the world of country music." Lansky will pen the script and executive produce alongside Jennifer Salke and Matt Milam for Sullivan Street. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
HIGH POTENTIAL (ABC) - Steve Howe's Nick Wagner won't return as a regular for the series' third season but may "guest star at the start of next season to wrap his character's arc." (Deadline.com, 4/7)
HOW TO SURVIVE WITHOUT ME (HBO Max) - The family drama pilot has added Jack Ball as "the middle son, Cary, who inherited his mom's razor-sharp wit and intellect"; Kylar Miranda as Luis, "a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team's and MLB's first out gay player, and Cary's husbandand"; and Julian Grey as PJ, "the youngest of the siblings, PJ still lives at home with Leo (Ray Romano)." LOS FELIZ (Starz, New!) - Gary Lennon is developing a new drama at the pay channel: "Los Feliz is an emotional high-stakes crime drama about an affair that destroys friendships, marriages, and careers - ultimately leading to a murder case that divides a community and destroys them all. If the lies don't kill them, the truth will. The series is set in the Los Angeles neighborhood of the same name near Hollywood." Lennon is penning all eight episodes of the project in advance of a potential series order. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN (Paramount+) - Nestor Carbonell will recur on the show's final season as Enrique Molina, "a boss who comes to Kingstown to avenge a relative who has gone missing." (Variety.com, 4/9)
ONE THAT GOT AWAY WITH MURDER, THE (Hulu, New!) - Tawnya Bhattacharya and Ali Laventhol are developing a new drama at the streamer based on the Trish Lundy YA thriller: "When a guarded new girl with a dark past transfers to a high school across the country, she's drawn to the former golden boy who is now a notorious outcast suspected of killing his girlfriend. Determined to know the truth, she secretly investigates, uncovering a web of secrets and lies, as she closes in on the killer who got away with murder." Sidonie Dumas, Nicolas Atlan, and Alexandra Zimbler Smith will also executive produce for Gaumont. (Deadline.com, 4/8)
POSER (Netflix) - Lauren Iungerich's new drama has cast the following actors to recur: Jaime Ray Newman as Jess; Jessie Cohen as Jenny; Tess Paras as Samantha; and Candace Allen as Melissa. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 4/10)
RJ DECKER (ABC) - David Zayas and Stephen Bishop will recur on the newcomer. Zayas will play "Emi's father, Victor Ochoa, a powerful and corrupt state senator who used his influence to ensure RJ was sent to prison"; with Bishop as Bruce Vinkour, "a wealthy real estate developer Emi enlists for help when her father lands in RJ's crosshair." SHERIFF COUNTRY (CBS) - Amanda Arcuri's Skye and Ian Quinlan's Hank will return as regulars for the series' second season. (Deadline.com, 4/9)
SO GAY FOR YOU (Amazon, New!) - Charlie Covell is developing a small screen take on Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey's book, subtitled "Friendship, Found Family, and the Show That Started It All," at Amazon MGM Studios. Said duo would also star in the project as well as executive produce alongside Covell, Jessica Rhoades, Alison Mo Massey, and Nina Lederman for Pacesetter Productions. (Deadline.com, 4/7)
SOUTHERN BASTARDS (Hulu) - Kevin Bacon is set to star in the comic-book-turned drama pilot: "Bacon plays Earl, the son of the legendary Sheriff Bert, who ruled Craw County with an iron fist. Earl is a tough but humble blue-collar army veteran - eager to mend fences and reconnect with his daughter, and not afraid to stir the hornet's nest that is Craw County." Reinaldo Marcus Green will direct from a teleplay by Bill Dubuque and a story by Green and Nia DaCosta. Matt Olmstead will serve as showrunner with Green, Jason Aaron, Jason Latour, Layne Eskridge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler also executive producing for Onyx Collective, POV Entertainment, Proximity Media, and Fifth Season. UNTITLED 50 CENT PROJECT (Hulu, New!) - Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will be the focus of a three-part series at the streamer: "The "definitive" documentary will chronicle the evolution of 50 Cent - from the streets of Queens to global cultural dominance - exploring how he relentlessly reinvented himself across music, business, and film while redefining the rules of power, influence, and success. Through an intimate and revealing lens, the series portrays a figure who has consistently transformed conflict and adversity into enduring cultural impact." Mandon Lovett will direct and executive produce the project alongside Jackson, Patrick Altema, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman for The Intellectual Property Corporation and G-Unit Film & Television. UNTITLED LIZER, LYNCH AND SAGAL PILOT (NBC) - Sadie Calvano and Gabe Gibbs have been cast in the comedy pilot, which has also added Pamela Fryman as director. Calvano will play Joni, "Ginger's daughter, and a budding lawyer who's a super straight arrow"; with Gibbs as Lennon, "Ginger's son, who is bright, sensitive, and a bit of a Mama's boy." Fryman will also executive produce alongside Kari Lizer, Jane Lynch, Katey Sagal, Krista Vernoff, Andrew Stearn, Alexandre Schmitt, Shelley Zimmerman, and Blair Bigelow for Universal Television, which is taking over from original producer Paramount Television Studios.
