NBC INVITES VIEWERS TO RUN OFF AND JOIN THE CIRCUS THIS SUMMER AS NETWORK PICKS UP INTERNATIONAL HIT SERIES 'CELEBRITY CIRCUS' FROM THE PRODUCERS OF 'DEAL OR NO DEAL'

New Series is a Part of Network's Commitment to Year-round Original Programming and "NBC's All-American Summer," Providing Momentum Leading into NBC Universal's Exclusive Coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing

BURBANK - January 18, 2008 - NBC dares viewers to run off and join the circus as it will broadcast the American version of the international hit series "Celebrity Circus" (working title) from Endemol USA, the producers of NBC's smash hit game show "Deal or No Deal." The spectacular live competition series invites celebrities to participate alongside avant garde professional circus troupes in a visually arresting format.

The new series is a part of NBC's commitment to year-round original programming and "NBC's All-American Summer," providing momentum leading into NBC Universal's exclusive coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

The announcement was made today by Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment.

"This show will draw our favorite celebrities out of their comfort zone and into a stunning and magical circus environment that allows them to showcase their unseen skills," said Plestis. "It's a fresh concept from our friends at Endemol and is unlike anything else currently in the TV landscape."

"We are extremely excited to be bringing this show to American audiences," said David Goldberg, President of Endemol USA. "Every week this show will bring big thrills and bigger entertainment to our audience who can look forward to some very adventurous television."

"Celebrity Circus" will feature jaw-dropping performances and inspirational stories as the competitive journey unfolds. Music from cutting-edge artists will accompany the performances that rival contemporary Las Vegas-styled circus shows. The celebrity performances will be judged by the professional circus entertainers.

The series, which is currently being sold around the world, has had highly successful launches in Portugal and Argentina. On Portugal's TVi network, the series averaged a 33 share and its finale skyrocketed to a 46 share. The primetime launch on Argentina's Telefe had a 64.5 percent share doubling the network's average in the time period.

"Celebrity Circus" is produced by Endemol USA. David Goldberg is the President of Endemol USA.
