"Krod Mandoon" Will Film On Location In Hungary And Is Scheduled To Premiere In Early 2009

NEW YORK, July 29, 2008 -- Sean Maguire ("Meet the Spartans," "The Class") has been tapped as the lead in COMEDY CENTRAL's new series "Krod Mandoon and The Flaming Sword of Fire," the all-comedy network's first foray into medieval comedy, which will be shot on location in Hungary and is scheduled to premiere in early 2009.

A fantasy-comedy, "Krod Mandoon and The Flaming Sword of Fire" is an outrageous, live-action, character-driven comedy that takes place in the "long ago past" and features Maguire as the reluctant hero Krod Mandoon, a sensitive, clueless freedom fighter, as the last great hope in a medieval struggle. The series is a co-production between COMEDY CENTRAL and MRC and is written by Peter Knight and executive produced by Knight, Brad Johnson, Jimmy Mulville and Mario Stylianides.

Maguire, who most recently starred in the spoof comedy "Meet the Spartans" and in the ensemble CBS comedy "The Class," began acting at the age of five in the award-winning television movie "A Voyage Round My Father" with Sir Lawrence Olivier. Maguire went on to television fame in the United Kingdom in the hit series "Grange Hill," followed by "Dangerfield" and the successful long-running series "EastEnders." With three albums to his credit, Maguire is also well known in the UK for his music career. Maguire recently wrapped production on "Mr. Eleven," a two-part original movie for ITV and has been cast in a guest-starring role in Rob Thomas' updated version of "Cupid" for ABC. He is also a member of the Los Angeles Shakespeare Company headed by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. McGuire is represented by the Kohner Agency and Paul Coates.

COMEDY CENTRAL, the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 95 million homes nationwide. COMEDY CENTRAL is owned by, and is a registered trademark of, Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of VIACOM Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks.
