Australian Supermodel Nicole Trunfio Serves As Mentor
New Panel Of Judges Include Renowned Designer Catherine Malandrino, Model Jenny Shimizu, Famed Photographer Perou And International Model Scout - Marlon
NEW YORK � January 7, 2009 � Bravo's creative competition series "Make Me A Supermodel" returns for season two with supermodel Tyson Beckford returning as the show's host and mentor to the male models. Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio joins the show as mentor to the female models. Also, a new panel of esteemed judges joins the series, including world-renowned designer Catherine Malandrino, model Jenny Shimizu, and famed photographer Perou and international model scout Marlon. "Make Me A Supermodel" follows a group of beautiful and talented men and women who will compete for $100,000 and the chance to become the next great supermodel. The series is scheduled to premiere on Bravo in the first quarter of 2009.
Tyson Beckford is one of the most respected and well-known male supermodels in the world. His modeling career exploded when he appeared in the Fall 1994 Polo Sport campaign. He soon landed an exclusive multi-year contract with Ralph Lauren and served as the spokesmodel for Polo Sport and Polo Fragrances. Beckford has appeared on covers and in countless editorials for a variety of magazines worldwide. Beckford's film credits include "Into The Blue," "Zoolander," "Biker Boyz," "Hotel California" and "Kings of the Evening." He has starred in a number of music videos including 50 Cent's chart topping "21 Questions," and the Grammy Award-winning songs "Toxic" by Britney Spears and "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton. In his free time, he actively participates in charities such as "Keep A Child Alive." When Beckford is not modeling or acting, he is busy developing his motor sports interests, which has led him to become a licensed driving member of Team X and host of his own auto show.
Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio is both a staple in print modeling and a force on the runway. She has been featured across the globe in numerous fashion magazines, including Italian Vogue, Italian Elle, Marie Clare, German Vogue, French Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and Allure, and has worked with renowned photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Shaw, Steven Klein, Alexei Hay and Karl Lagerfeld. Trunfio's resume boasts various advertising campaigns ranging from Pantene to Ann Taylor to D&G and Lacoste. She can currently be seen in ads for Guess and BCBG. Trunfio has walked in runway shows by fashion's hottest designers including Fendi, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors and Gucci. Outside of modeling, Nicole studies acting and enjoys playing the guitar, reading and writing poetry, photography, running, and participating in extreme sports.
Renowned designer Catherine Malandrino began her career in France where she worked in the famous fashion houses of Emanuel Ungaro and Louis Feraud. In 1998, Malandrino moved to America where she met her husband and partner, Bernard Aidan. Here she took on the feat of re-launching the Diane von Furstenberg collection, and then began working on her own designs. Truly among the international fashion elite, her two current collections, a runway Malandrino line and a contemporary Catherine Malandrino line are available worldwide. A-list celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Janet Jackson, Sandra Bullock, Demi Moore and Heidi Klum are either clients or have been featured on magazine covers wearing her designs. Known to be fashion forward, Catherine has a large couture following from fashionistas like Madonna, Beyonc�, Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, and Nicole Kidman.
Jenny Shimizu entered the modeling world in1993 after being discovered riding her Triumph motorcycle by Kelly and Calvin Klein. Once settled in New York, she quickly scored work on the runway, walking in shows for Donna Karan, Yohji Yamamoto, Versace, Prada, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Shimizu went on to model in numerous ad campaigns and countless editorials. She has worked with some of the industry's top photographers, including Richard Avedon, Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimon, and Mario Testino. Shimizu has appeared in a number of television shows, including "America's Next Top Model," "E!'s Sexiest Top Models," and is currently a series regular on "Dante's Cove." Shimizu is an incredible mechanic and can be found restoring Bentleys, Rolls Royces and Cadillacs from the 1940's, 50's 60's. She is also an avid motorcycle rider with an affinity and love for Ducati's.
London-based photographer Perou embarked on a mission to capture the world in his lens in 1990. Now a renowned celebrity photographer, he has shot the likes of David Beckham, The Spice Girls, Blondie, Jay-Z and U2. Perou's work celebrates individualism and his unique perspective of the world. In 2004, Perou was commissioned by BBC to create a documentary on Africa, and also directs videos for music stars such as Marilyn Manson and KT Tunstall. Perou has shot a myriad of covers and features for magazines around the globe, including Vogue, GQ, and Entertainment Weekly, among others. A former butler, he earned his B.A. in Photography, Film and Video Arts from the University of Westminster. He currently lives with his family on a farm in the heart of the English countryside and has a studio in the east of London.
Marlon has worked in many different aspects of the fashion industry. Most notably, he has worked as an international model scout, where he educates young models and manages their careers, some of whom have made it to the top, including Marisa Miller and Anouck Lepere. He has also worked as a photographer, shooting rock icons The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and has worked as an agent for some of the top photographers in the world. He first got involved in fashion while attending university in his native South Africa, where he worked in the creative department for Adidas. He then studied shoe design in Milan before making the jump to the New York fashion world. To date, Marlon has worked at leading modeling agencies around the globe and continues to work with top models backstage at fashion shows in New York, Milan and Paris.
