dick clark productions president Orly Adelson has announced that Green Day, Rihanna, Shakira and Mary J. Blige will perform at the "2009 American Music Awards." They will join other previously announced acts, including Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. The show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational. For the first time ever, dcp will stream a live pre-show on the red carpet for the "2009 American Music Awards" on November 22nd at 3:00 PM (PT) / 6:00 PM (ET).
