'Roar,' 'Family Guy' Begin Cable Runs in April

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Two cult television series will make their cable debuts next month as aborted FOX series "Roar" and "Family Guy" will head to Sci Fi Channel and Cartoon Network respectively.
"Roar," which originally ran on FOX during the summer of 1997, will air Wednesdays at 10:00/9:00c on Sci Fi Channel starting April 2. 13 episodes of the series were produced however only eight aired. The series, which takes place in the year 400 A.D., concerns a young man (Heath Ledger) who is destined to unite the Irish clans in order to rid the island of the invading Romans. Look for a few appearances by a pre-"Felicity" Keri Russell.
"Family Guy," which ran spottily on FOX from 1999-2002, will make its Cartoon Network debut on April 20 as part of the network's Adult Swim lineup. Episodes will run Sunday through Thursday at 11:30/10:30c following another FOX cast-off, "Futurama." 50 episodes were produced during its run, one of which still has yet to air.
