'Veritas' Explores Hiatus, 'Makeover' Date Set

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Struggling drama "Veritas: The Quest" has been placed on broadcast hiatus by ABC for the remainder of the 2002-03 season. The nine remaining episodes are expected to be aired this summer.

Through four airings this season "Veritas" has averaged an unspectacular 7.08 million viewers and routinely finished in last place among the major networks in the key 18-49 demographic. War coverage will fill its Monday, 8:00/7:00c time slot for the time being.

Meanwhile, ABC has decided to launch "Extreme Makeover" on Thursday, April 10. Previously it was believed the Alphabet network would hold the program until the summer as the majority of its reality plate ("The Family," "Profiles from the Front Line," "Are You Hot?") was canceled or placed on hiatus yesterday.
