CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:
PEACEMAKERS (USA) - Amy Carlson, whose character was killed off in the season finale of "Third Watch," has found a new life in USA's upcoming original series "Peacemakers." Carlson will play a young medical student who has come home to run the family undertaking business and finds herself working with the local sheriff (Tom Berenger). The series stars Berenger and Peter O'Meara as lawmen with clashing styles in 1882. USA has committed to eight episodes of the western in addition to its two-hour pilot telefilm. Production starts this June in Vancouver. Charlie Craig and Rick Ramage are executive producing the series with Larry Carroll and Rick Wallace as co-executive producers.
PETKEEPING WITH MARC MORRONOE (Syndication, New!) - Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is set to launch "Petkeeping With Marc Morrone," a new syndicated series distributed by Hearst Entertainment this September. Morronoe (Cablevision's "The Pet Shop") hosts the series, along with his entourage of a chinchilla, puppies, a bearded dragon and a ferret. The project will air in than more than 130 TV markets beginning in the fall.
